Or maybe you're about to buy a new phone and want to confirm before you commit. Either way, you've stumbled upon the right place.

This blog covers a list of eSIM supported phones in Pakistan, organized by brand, so you can find your device quickly and know exactly if your phone is esim compatible.

eSIM Compatible Phones: Which Ones Work in Pakistan?

eSIM is a hardware feature. What this means is that it's basically a chip built into your phone at the factory, not something that can be added later through software.

This means two phones from the same brand can behave very differently. One model might fully support eSIM while another from the same series doesn't.

Regional variants also matter. This means that the same phone sold in China or certain other markets can have eSIM disabled entirely, even though the hardware looks identical.

The list below covers models that are commonly available, imported, or in use in Pakistan specifically. Let’s go through the list…

Apple iPhone eSIM Supported Phones in Pakistan

If you've bought or imported an iPhone from China, check your settings for an EID number before assuming eSIM will work.

Samsung eSIM Supported Phones in Pakistan

Google Pixel eSIM Supported Phones in Pakistan

Only global variants of Xiaomi phones support eSIM. Devices sold in or sourced from mainland China do not.

Infinix eSIM Supported Phones in Pakistan

Infinix is widely used in Pakistan, particularly in the budget segment. As of 2026, Infinix does not offer eSIM support on any of its models available in Pakistan. This is a deliberate choice for the price segment the brand targets.

Similarly, Tecno phones available in Pakistan do not currently support eSIM across any of their models. If this changes with new launches, we’ll make sure to update it here.

Itel phones available in Pakistan do not support eSIM. The brand focuses on the entry-level segment where eSIM hardware is not included.

Do Local Pakistani Phone Brands Support eSIM?

As of 2026, most local Pakistani phone brands do not offer eSIM support. The brands in this segment primarily target the budget market where eSIM hardware is not a common inclusion.

VGO Tel, Sparx, and Dcode are three of the more established local brands in Pakistan. But they do not currently have any eSIM-compatible models in their lineups. If this changes with future launches, we’ll make sure this section is updated accordingly.

How to Check If Your Phone Supports eSIM?

Not sure whether your specific model and variant supports eSIM? Here are four ways to confirm.

Method 1: Check for an EID Number in Settings

Method 2: Check iPhone Settings / Android Settings

Method 3: Check the Manufacturer's Website

Search your exact model number on your phone manufacturer's official specifications page. eSIM support is listed under connectivity features. Always use your model number, not just the name, as variants differ.

Method 4: Check PTA DIRBS for Approved Status

Nope, not necessarily. Three things beyond basic eSIM hardware can prevent activation in Pakistan.

Buying a Used eSIM Phone in Pakistan? Check These 5 Things First

Confirm the phone is not locked to a carrier abroad. A carrier-locked phone may not accept Onic or any other Pakistani operator's eSIM profile, even if all other conditions are met.

4. Does It Have an MDM or Corporate Lock?

Some used phones, especially those previously issued by companies, have MDM (Mobile Device Management) profiles installed that restrict network settings. This can prevent eSIM activation entirely.

5. Has the eSIM Profile Already Been Used?

An eSIM profile already tied to another account or operator may need to be cleared before a new one can be activated. Ask the seller whether the eSIM has been used and whether it has been properly removed or reset.

If your phone is on the list above and you want to activate an eSIM in Pakistan, Onic makes it smooth, straightforward and a walk-in-the-park easy.

1. Can I use eSIM on a phone bought from abroad in Pakistan?

Yes, as long as the phone is a global variant, factory unlocked, and PTA registered. Phones from mainland China often have eSIM disabled regardless of model. Always check for an EID number first.

2. Does every phone from the same brand support eSIM?

No. eSIM support varies by model and regional variant even within the same brand. A Samsung Galaxy A32, for example, does not support eSIM, while the Galaxy A54 does. Always check the specific model.

4. How do I know if my phone is eSIM compatible?

5. Can I use eSIM and a physical SIM at the same time?

6. Does Onic eSIM Work on All the Phones Listed Above?

Yes. An Onic eSIM works on any phone in this list that is PTA registered, factory unlocked, and running a global firmware variant. If your phone has a confirmed EID number and meets those three conditions, you can activate an Onic eSIM on it.

Can I use eSIM on a phone bought from abroad in Pakistan?

Does every phone from the same brand support eSIM?

The fastest way is to dial *#06# and check whether an EID number appears. You can also check your phone's settings for an "Add eSIM" option, or look up your exact model number on the manufacturer's specification page.

How do I know if my phone is eSIM compatible?

Yes, on phones that support Dual SIM functionality. Most modern smartphones on this list allow you to run one eSIM and one physical SIM simultaneously. For a full comparison of both options, see our eSIM vs Physical SIM guide.

Can I use eSIM and a physical SIM at the same time?

Does Onic eSIM Work on All the Phones Listed Above?

You bought a 5G-capable phone. You may have even seen the 5G launch in the news. But when you check your phone, the icon isn't showing up, or you're not sure where to even turn it on.

What You Need Before You Can Use 5G in Pakistan?

Before troubleshooting your settings, four things need to be in place…

Not every phone supports 5G, and not every 5G phone supports Pakistan's specific frequency bands. Search your phone model with "5G bands" to confirm.

Older physical SIMs may not support 5G even on a compatible phone. If yours is several years old, you may need a replacement.

Android phones vary by brand, but the setting is always found within your mobile network options. Here's where to look depending on your device.

Why Isn't 5G Showing on My Phone? (Troubleshooting)

If you've confirmed the basics and 5G still isn't appearing, here are the most common reasons, in order of likelihood.

This is the most common reason by far. Confirm your exact location is within your operator's published 5G zone.

Your Phone Doesn't Support Pakistan's 5G Bands

Some phones support 5G technology generally but not the specific frequency bands deployed locally. This makes the phone effectively incompatible here, even though it works fine elsewhere.

Older SIM cards may physically lack the capability. A replacement SIM from your operator usually resolves this.

Older operating system versions can prevent 5G from being recognized. Update to the latest available software and try again.

Double-check the steps above for your device. It's easy to overlook a setting buried a few menus deep.

Your Phone Defaults Back to 4G in Low-Signal Areas

This is normal behavior, not a fault, as your phone is prioritizing a stable connection over a flaky 5G one.

How Can You Tell If You're Actually Connected to 5G?

The 5G icon isn't always proof of an active connection. On some phones, particularly iPhones in "5G Auto" mode, the icon can appear even while your phone is using LTE in the background, since it reflects network availability rather than your current active connection.

A speed test alone doesn't confirm 5G either because a fast result can come from strong 4G, and a slow one can happen on 5G in a congested area. Signal also fluctuates naturally as you move, so don't be alarmed if your connection type changes from moment to moment. That's expected, not a malfunction.

Frequently Asked Questions About 5G in Pakistan

Only if your existing SIM already supports 5G. Older SIM cards often need to be replaced before 5G will activate, even if your phone and plan both support it.

2. Why does my phone keep switching between 4G and 5G?

This is normal adaptive network behavior. Your phone automatically switches to whichever connection is more stable and efficient at that moment, especially in areas with patchy 5G coverage.

3. Why is 5G draining my battery faster after activation?

5G antennas use more power than 4G, particularly in "5G On" mode where your phone constantly searches for and maintains a 5G connection. Switching to "5G Auto" usually balances this out.

It depends on your building and how close you are to a 5G tower. 5G signals generally don't penetrate walls as effectively as 4G, so indoor performance can be weaker than what you get outdoors.

5. Do I need to restart my phone after activating 5G?

It's a good habit. While not always required, restarting helps ensure the new network setting is fully applied.

Yes. On iPhone, select "LTE" under Voice & Data. On Android, simply choose a 4G-only option in your network mode settings. You can switch back to 5G at any time.

In this blog, we'll compare weekly and monthly internet packages in Pakistan, break down the real prices and data allowances, and help you figure out which option makes the most sense based on your usage, budget, and lifestyle. Let’s dive in!

What is the Difference Between Weekly and Monthly Mobile Internet Plans in Pakistan?

A weekly internet plan lasts 7 days and is designed for short-term or flexible data needs. A monthly internet plan lasts 30 days and is built for regular, daily data users who want better value over a longer period.

The core difference is simple: weekly plans offer flexibility, monthly plans offer better value per rupee. Choosing between them comes down to how often you use data and how predictable your usage is.

What Do Weekly Internet Packages in Pakistan Include?

This makes weekly plans ideal for short bursts of data usage rather than ongoing daily needs.

How Much Data, Calls And SMS Do Weekly Internet Plans Offer?

Weekly plans in Pakistan typically range from 5GB to 80GB of data depending on the network and the price tier.

At the higher end, networks like Onic offer up to 80GB in a single weekly package. Most weekly plans across Pakistani networks include a set number of on-net or all-network minutes and SMS, but these amounts vary significantly.

Onic's weekly plans, for example, include unlimited calls and SMS bundled in, which is relatively generous compared to market norms.

How Much Do Weekly Internet Packages Cost in Pakistan?

Weekly internet packages in Pakistan generally range from Rs. 200 to Rs. 600 depending on the data volume and the network.

On Onic, the weekly Maverick plan offers 40GB for Rs. 500, while the weekly Ultimate plan offers 80GB for Rs. 550, both including unlimited calls and SMS. Compared to other networks, this represents strong value at the weekly price point.

What Do Monthly Internet Packages in Pakistan Include?

Monthly internet packages in Pakistan are valid for 30 days. Some networks offer a 28-day billing cycle, but the standard in Pakistan's market is 30 days.

On Onic, monthly plans run on a full 30-day cycle, and any unused data at the end of the month rolls over automatically to the next billing period. This way, you never lose data you've already paid for.

How Much Data, Calls And SMS Do Monthly Internet Plans Offer?

Onic's monthly plans start at 30GB on the Epic plan and go up to 250GB on the Xclusive plan, all with unlimited all-network calls and SMS included. This level of bundling, data, calls, and SMS in a single price, is one of the main reasons monthly plans represent better overall value.

How Much Do Monthly Internet Packages Cost in Pakistan?

Networks like Jazz, Zong, and Ufone offer monthly plans in the Rs. 800 - Rs.2,500 range, though data inclusions and hidden charges vary considerably.

Onic's monthly plans in 2026 are priced as follows:

Weekly vs Monthly Internet Packages: Side by Side Comparison

The core tradeoff is straightforward. The weekly plans give you flexibility without commitment, but you pay a premium for that freedom. Monthly plans require a 30-day commitment but deliver meaningfully better value, which includes more data, lower cost per GB, and fewer renewals to manage.

When Should You Choose a Weekly Internet Plan?

Are You Travelling Short-Term or on a Brief Trip?

If you're away from home for a week, visiting another city, attending a wedding out of town, or travelling for work, a weekly plan makes complete sense.

You get the data you need for exactly the duration you're there, without locking into a 30-day plan you won't fully use.

Do You Want to Test a Network Before Committing?

Not sure if a network's coverage or speed is right for you? A weekly plan lets you try it out with minimal risk. Spend Rs. 500 – 550 to test real-world performance in your area before deciding whether to switch to a monthly plan.

Are You a Student Needing Data Just For Exam Week?

During exam season, usage spikes via downloading notes, watching explanation videos, and sharing resources with classmates. A weekly plan covers the heavy usage period without committing to a full month when your needs will drop back down.

Do You Need a Backup SIM for Emergency Data?

If you carry a dual-SIM phone and want a secondary data option for when your main SIM runs into issues, a weekly plan is a practical, low-cost backup. It keeps your secondary SIM active without wasting money on a full monthly plan you may rarely touch.

When Should You Choose a Monthly Internet Plan?

If you're online every day, checking social media, streaming video, using Google Maps, watching YouTube, or just browsing, a monthly plan is almost always the smarter choice.

You'll use the data consistently, and your cost per GB will be a fraction of what you'd pay on weekly renewals.

Remote workers and online students consume data in large, consistent volumes every single day. Video calls, file downloads, research, cloud storage syncing, all of this adds up fast.

A monthly plan with a high data cap like Iconic (100GB) or Limitless (200GB) ensures you never hit a wall mid-workday.

Do You Want to Save Money in the Long Run?

Four weekly renewals of the Onic Ultimate plan (80GB × 4 = 320GB total) would cost Rs. 2,200 per month. Monthly Limitless plan gives you 200GB for Rs. 1,790, with data rollover included.

For most users, switching to monthly saves between Rs. 400 and Rs. 700 every single month.

It also simplifies management. How? One renewal date, one price, and no risk of someone's weekly plan expiring mid-week.

Which Plan Offers Better Value for Money in Pakistan?

On a pure rupee-per-GB basis, monthly plans win every time. Let's look at the numbers directly using Onic's current pricing:

When you account for the full month, four weekly renewals at Rs. 550 each = Rs. 2,200 for approximately the same data period.

Weekly plans offer better value only when you genuinely don't need data for the full month. For everyone else, monthly is the smarter financial choice.

What Common Mistakes People Make When Choosing Internet Plans?

Choosing Internet Plan Based Only on Price

The cheapest-looking plan isn't always the cheapest in practice. A Rs. 200 weekly plan that runs out in 3 days forces another purchase, and suddenly you've spent Rs. 600 in a week. Always look at the total monthly cost, not just the upfront price.

Ignoring Data Consumption & Overestimating Data Usage Needs

Many users overestimate how much data they need, pay for 200GB, and use 40GB. Others underestimate and run out by day 20.

Not Checking If Your Plan Includes Calls and SMS

Some low-cost plans are data-only, meaning calls and SMS cost extra. Always confirm whether calls and SMS are included in the bundle, or you'll end up paying separately for something you assumed was covered.

Some networks auto-renew your plan when it expires, silently deducting balance. If your balance is low, you may get a partial or failed renewal.

Always check your network's auto-renewal policy and keep sufficient balance to avoid unexpected deductions.

Weekly vs Monthly Internet Packages on Onic Pakistan

Onic offers two weekly plans and four monthly plans, all with unlimited all-network calls and SMS included:

Final Verdict: Weekly or Monthly Internet Plan?

Still not sure? Match your daily habits and data needs below to instantly find your perfect plan.

Here’s the bottom line, if your data usage is predictable and daily, go monthly, you'll save money every single month. If your usage is short-term, irregular, or you're just testing a network, a weekly plan gives you exactly what you need without overpaying.

Either way, choose a plan that matches how you actually use your phone, not how you think you use it.

1. Are monthly internet plans cheaper than weekly plans in Pakistan?

Yes, in most cases. When you calculate the total cost over 30 days, four weekly renewals almost always cost more than a single monthly plan with equivalent or greater data. Monthly plans also include perks like data rollover that weekly plans typically don't offer.

2. Which internet plan gives the best value for money?

Monthly plans consistently deliver better value per GB and per day. On Onic, the Iconic monthly plan at Rs. 1,590 gives you 100GB for 30 days, far more cost-efficient than renewing a weekly plan four times over the same period.

3. Which network offers the best weekly plan in Pakistan?

Onic currently offers one of the most competitive weekly plans in Pakistan which is 80GB with unlimited calls and SMS for Rs. 550 on the Ultimate plan. That's a strong data-to-price ratio with no hidden charges.

4. Can I switch from a weekly plan to a monthly plan anytime?

Yes. On most networks you can switch plans through the app. Your new plan typically activates once your current one expires, or immediately depending on the network's policy. Check your network's app or helpline for confirmation.

5. What happens when my internet package expires?

Once your plan expires, you lose any remaining data (unless data rollover is active), and calls or SMS from the bundle stop working. You'll be charged standard rates until you activate a new plan. On Onic, you'll receive a reminder before expiry through the app.

6. Is it cheaper to buy four weekly or one monthly internet package?

It is almost always cheaper to buy one monthly plan than four weekly internet packages.

Four Onic Weekly Ultimate renewals (Rs. 550 × 4) cost Rs. 2,200, while the monthly Limitless plan gives you 200GB for Rs. 1,790. That's a Rs. 410 saving per month, every month, without doing anything differently.

7. Does unused data roll over on weekly or monthly plans in Pakistan?

Data rollover is available on Onic's monthly plans. Any unused GBs carry forward automatically to your next billing cycle. Weekly plans on Onic do not include data rollover.

Still carrying a tiny plastic card in your phone just to stay connected? You're not alone, as most of us in Pakistan grew up with physical SIMs and never questioned it. But things are changing fast, and if you've been hearing about eSIM and wondering what it is (whether your phone supports it) and how to actually switch, you're in the right place.

And no, no tech background is needed for you to understand. Let’s get to it!

Why Should You Switch from Physical SIM to eSIM?

With a physical SIM, if someone gets hold of your SIM card (whether your phone gets snatched or the card gets lost), they can pop it into another device and potentially access your calls, OTPs, and accounts.

An eSIM is built directly into your phone's hardware. Nobody can take it out. It can't be cloned the way a physical SIM can, and it can't be handed to someone else.

Your number stays locked to your device, giving you a meaningful layer of protection that a plastic card simply cannot offer.

Most eSIM-supported phones let you run two numbers at the same time, that is, your eSIM and a physical SIM in the tray.

Now, this is a game-changer if you want to keep a personal and work number on one phone, or if you're travelling and want a local number without removing your main SIM. No more carrying two phones. No more juggling SIM cards.

With an eSIM, you can activate a local data plan before you even board your flight, that too entirely from your phone. No queues, no counters, no scrambling at the airport.

What You Should Check Before Switching to an eSIM in Pakistan?

Switching to eSIM is simple, but there are two things you must check before switching:

1. Does My Phone Support eSIM And How To Verify?

If you don't see any of these options, your phone likely doesn't support eSIM and you'll need a newer device.

In Pakistan, all phones used on local networks need to be PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) registered.
